For the most part, the changes have been temporary; hair can always be cut or grown, a clothing style can be replaced, music genres evolve.Generation X and Generation Y express themselves through their appearance; tattoos and body piercings are popular forms of self-expression. The difference, of course, is that both are more permanent.In the past, generational signatures have been largely attributed to rebelliousness. And, while tattoos and body piercings can be an important indication of a person’s identity, this feels different from a statement of dissonance.
