In Chapter 7 you learn about various motivational concepts. One of the most talked about is Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs where after each need is achieved, the next on the hierarchy becomes more substantially important in trying to acquire. This can be thought of as a one size fits all model and some believe that each person has different forms of motivation that drive them towards success or even what they deem as success. While reading the chapter you will touch on self-determination and goal setting, be sure to pay close attention to how these differing theories may work together in some companies. Assignment: Write a one page summary of what you believe is the ultimate motivation for employees. Is there a specific company that excels at motivating their employees better than others and do some people respond differently to various reinforcements in the workplace?
