Follow with about six sentences of plot summary: this hapens, this happens, this happens. DON’T EXPLAIN HERE. Just give the basic facts. End with the central idea ARGUMENT. Not a “theme,” but an argument about what the story says about life. See the “how to” section for more on how to do this, as well as the “Barbie-Q” example in “paper assignments.” Paragraph 2: PROVE your central idea argument to be true. Use quotes from the story. Paragraph 3: Name the protagonist (main character) and give three one-word traits to describe her/ him. Give quotes from the story to illustrate each of those traits. Name the antagonist. We are looking for a character (not a general idea) who pushes the protagonist to confront his/her internal conflict. The protagonist can’t also be the antagonist.
